Hide Your Gains: Introducing Privacy Mode

The blockchain is public. Every transaction, every balance, every stake—visible to anyone with an explorer.

For most, this is fine. For whales, it is a target. For everyone, it is a vulnerability.

The Problem with Transparency

When you stake a large amount on a public protocol, you're announcing to the world:

  • "I believe in this project."
  • "I have significant capital."
  • "I am a target for exploits, social engineering, and front-running."

The memecoin space is ruthless. Information asymmetry is everything. If others can see your position, they can trade against it.

Enter Confidential Transfers

Floops is now the first memecoin protocol with native privacy, powered by Solana's Token-2022 Confidential Transfer extension.

Here's what this means:

1. ElGamal Encryption

Your token balances are encrypted using ElGamal homomorphic encryption. This isn't some off-chain obfuscation trick—it's cryptographic encryption at the protocol level.

On-chain observers see only gibberish. Only you, with your private key, can decrypt your actual balance.

2. Zero-Knowledge Proofs

When you stake, claim, or transfer, the protocol needs to verify you have sufficient funds. But how, without seeing your balance?

Zero-Knowledge Proofs solve this. You prove you have enough tokens without revealing the exact amount. It's like showing a bouncer your age without revealing your birthdate.

3. One-Click Toggle

We didn't want privacy to be complicated. In the Floops staking UI, there's now a Privacy Toggle:

  • OFF: Standard public staking. Everyone can see.
  • ON: Confidential mode. Your amounts are encrypted.

Flip the switch. That's it. No complex setup. No external tools.

Why This Matters

For whales:

  • Stake without announcing your position to the world.
  • Accumulate without moving the market against you.

For everyone:

  • Your financial activity is your business.
  • No more analysis of your wallet by curious observers or malicious actors.

How It Works

  1. Configure: Your token account is initialized for confidential transfers.
  2. Deposit: Public tokens move to an encrypted pending balance.
  3. Apply: Pending becomes available for confidential operations.
  4. Stake/Claim: Use privacy mode in the UI for encrypted transactions.

Under the hood, we use Solana's Token-2022 program with the ConfidentialTransfer extension. It's native, audited, and production-ready.

The Future of DeFi is Private

We believe transparency is a spectrum, not a binary. Some things should be public (protocol code, fee structures). Some things should be private (your personal financial activity).

Floops is building for a future where you control what's visible.

Privacy mode is now live. Toggle it in the staking UI.

Your gains. Your secret.
